Paul Miller, PhD, LLM, MBA, is Professor of Educational Leadership & Social Justice, and Director of the Institute for Educational & Social Equity – the UK’s first fully independent EDI Institute. He is the first and still the only Black professor of educational leadership appointed at a UK University.

Paul Miller is; Strategic Adviser – Race, Culture & Leadership – at AdvanceHE, EDI/Anti-racism Adviser to the Vice Chancellor, Queen Margaret University, Scotland. He has written extensively on the issue of racism and leadership and how the curriculum can be used as a social vaccine in tackling gender-based violence. He has over 120 peer reviewed publications and is editor of “Power & Education” and founding editor of “Equity in Education & Society”. He remains a Visiting Professor in Educational Leadership & Social Justice (University of Huddersfield), and a Visiting Professor of Educational Policy (University of Warwick). Professor Miller co-edited the Commonwealth Educational Leadership Handbook (2022) and the CARICOM Teaching Standards (2020).
