Prior to AET, James spent 13 years at RM Education in a great variety of strategic, operational, sales and product based roles. Perhaps most significantly he spent 3 years in and out of schools on a daily basis helping them to get the most from their technology strategy.

More recently he led RM’s School Software business and drove a strategy to build and offer software to schools that helps leaders, teachers and learners to improve outcomes and achieve their goals. This included Glow, a national service made available to all schools in Scotland providing tools to help teachers, students and parents to enrich learning.

James is also a Board Director and Trustee of Abingdon Learning Trust, a small multi-academy trust within his local community. He’s helped to set a 3 step-strategy to consolidate and improve current schools, increase reach and impact by adding other local schools, and extend the provision for wider community benefit.
