Dr Mort Orman

Dr. Mort Orman graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1969. He then went on to attend the University of Maryland Medical School, where he earned his MD degree in 1973. He became board certified in Internal Medicine in 1976.

From 1977 to 2000, Dr. Orman worked in a private practice as an internal medicine physician. In 2000, he took on a new role as the Health & Wellness Medical Director for BlueCross/BlueShield. Dr. Orman held this position until 2015 when he became the CEO of Freedom From Anger & Stress, a position he continues to hold today.

Throughout his career, Dr. Orman has received recognition for his work. In 1991, his book “14 Day Stress Cure” was awarded the Non-Fiction Book Of The Year Award for Independent Publishers. He has authored a total of 23 books on topics related to anger and stress elimination.

Dr. Orman is also noted for his contributions as a founder and sponsor of National Stress Awareness Month in the United States. Since its inception in 1992, this annual event takes place every April to raise awareness about stress and its impact on health.
