Santiago Rincón-Gallardo’s purpose is to help young people and adults rediscover and ignite the power to learn. He is an education consultant, founder of Liberating Learning Inc. and a key member of Michael Fullan’s international consulting team. Santiago works with leaders and educators to liberate learning in education systems in North America, Latin America, Europe, and Australia.

Santiago worked for over a decade promoting grassroots pedagogical innovations in Mexican public schools located in historically marginalized communities. This work ignited a powerful movement of pedagogical renewal across thousands of schools in Mexico and beyond that continues to grow to this day. Santiago has published multiple book chapters and articles in peer reviewed journals. His most recent book, Liberating Learning: Educational Change as a Social Movement won the Outstanding Book of the Year Award from the American Association of Teaching and Curriculum in 2021.Santiago holds a master’s degree in International Education Policy and a doctorate in Education Policy, Leadership and Instructional Practice from Harvard University. He completed post-doctoral studies and was a visiting scholar and professor at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. He lives in Toronto with his wife and two children.
