Dr Martin Johnson

Speaker Summary

Dr Martin Johnson has worked as a researcher in Cambridge since 2002, and prior to that he was a Primary teacher for 10 years. His research has focussed on a diverse set of issues, often centring on interactions between assessment, learning, and curriculum issues. At the moment Martin is looking at ‘formality in education’, building on some earlier work in the area of assessing field skills (community-based archaeology projects) and young people’s self-guided learning in informal activities (skate parks).

He is a member of the Editorial Management Committee of the Journal of Vocational Education and Training, a Fellow of the International Society for Design and Development in Education, and an Executive Board member of the British Association for International and Comparative Education.
