Legacy: Building Your Eulogy, Not Your CV

  • - Sharing your passion and enthusiasm for an activity is infectious - supporting others and fostering a love for that activity can be a life-changing experience.
  • - Living your life in service of, and support of, others can be affirming for them and you - making a real difference in your community and enhancing life outcomes for those in your area is a force multiplier for good.
  • - We should perhaps all be concerned with building our legacy, as well as our CV and in doing so, perhaps our life's work will span generations rather than be limited by the span of our lives.

Session Description

I listened to my friend and fellow Headteacher, Helen’s eulogy. It struck me that in living a good life and championing others, she’d written her eulogy in which her legacy was more than evident. How many of us would be able to say, if we were not to wake up tomorrow, that we had left an indelible mark, created a legacy for hundreds and inspired many more to become champions in their fields? We are not born that way, we who are successful have had many ‘life champions’ who’ve facilitated and enhanced our development – more importantly, we’re capable of doing this for others.
