Professor Natalia Kucirkova

Natalia Kucirkova is Professor of Early Childhood Education and Development at the University of Stavanger, Norway.

Her work is concerned with social justice in children’s literacy and innovative uses of technologies. Her latest research project uses participatory approaches and examines the value of children’s sensory, and in particular, olfactory, engagement in stories.Natalia’s research takes place collaboratively across academia, commercial and third sectors. She led the development of the app “Our Story” and co-founded the university spin-out WiKIT, which bridges learning sciences and children’s EdTech industry.

She blogs for Psychology Today and her latest book is ‘The Future of the Self’ (Emerald, 2021).
