Session Description

Violence in our schools is increasing and practical strategies that address the immediate and longer term challenges are urgently needed. Leonardo da Vinci said ‘Look for the art in science and the science in art’. Rooted in evidence-based practices and research this session does exactly that. The sciences of neurobiology, positive psychology, sociology, and systems thinking will be explored through the lens of mythology, storytelling, and the visual and performing arts to show how school communities can move beyond peacekeeping and peacemaking (Restorative Approaches) to develop peacebuilding (Positive Peace).
