Session Description
Effective practice and effective physical environments for young children.
Introduce the MOVERS describing its focus on assessing the quality of the physical environment and implications for young children’s physical development, movement experiences and learning. To explain that it can be used by a class/setting for self-evaluation, improvement, audit and research. To highlight the age range which is up to 6 years. The MOVERS is unique because it can be used to assess the quality of pedagogy, and the environment and also to identify areas of need for professional development. The scale has been tested for reliability and validity by the Early Start Research Institute at the University of Wollongong, Australia.
