The session will explore research showing that learners’ self-efficacy or sense of agency, is a powerful but little-known predictor of school attainment. Jean will share the seven secrets of building self-efficacy, from the feedback we give to children, to the opportunities we provide for every learner to exercise responsibility and make a difference in their own lives and those of others. Drawing on examples from outstanding schools, the session will provide practical strategies for leaders and classroom teachers alike.
